The Coolina Promaja is my newest knife. I purchased it because of its rustic appearance, but have been amazed by its' edge and sharpness. As a six-footer, I find many countertops too low, and the downward shape of the Promaja adds 3 inches automatically to any surface. It features a slight curve to the blade which makes rocking on the cutting board very easy. The handle, although very hard, is comfortable for light to medium use (so far). Although it wasn't purchased as a cleaver, it's heavy enough to do the task. About the weight, it's much lighter than it looks at only 13.3 oz. My cleaver is nearly a quarter of a pound heavier. This knife isn't for the faint of heart: The blade comes very sharp right out of the box, and it's very un-chef-knife-like. You need to know where your digits are for the first few slices, and it must be cleaned immediately after any use or else your foods may affect the rustic blade. High carbon steel makes a good blade but it's very prone to spot from acidic residue, and needs to be oiled immediately following cleaning. The rustic dark area of the blade will always leave your towels black, so just avoid them. Keep it cleaned and oiled. If you are using a magnetic knife rack, oil it too. Treat it like a cast-iron pan. The edge is belt sharpened with no set angle, making blade upkeep a chore unless you are experienced. If you aren't, pay someone the ten bucks to pretty it up now and then. I secure mine in a vise and hit it at around 17 degrees with whatever stones will bring the edge back finishing with a leather strop. I will be featuring the Promaja in my upcoming BBQ videos @nigels_bars.

Knife Care Instructions:
- Wash immediately after receiving and after each use
- Wash by hand
- Dry immediately after washing
- Oil after drying
- Store properly
- Cut on a wooden chopping board
- Sharpen regularly
Wooden Products Care Instructions:
- Do wash your cutting board by hand.
- Do use liquid dish soap to wash your cutting board.
- Do wipe your clean cutting board dry, and let it finish by air-drying on its side.
- Don't put it in the dishwasher.
- Condition your board using mineral oil.
Knife Bag Care Instructions:
- For Cleaning:
  Wipe down with a damp cloth, then use a dry cloth to avoid water penetration.
- For Conditioning:
  Gently clean the leather surface by combining waterproof spray with colorless aniline cream on the cloth.
- Caution:
  Avoid extreme sunlight, excessive pressure, and soakage.

The Coolina Promaja is my newest knife. I purchased it because of its rustic appearance, but have been amazed by its' edge and sharpness. As a six-footer, I find many countertops too low, and the downward shape of the Promaja adds 3 inches automatically to any surface. It features a slight curve to the blade which makes rocking on the cutting board very easy. The handle, although very hard, is comfortable for light to medium use (so far). Although it wasn't purchased as a cleaver, it's heavy enough to do the task. About the weight, it's much lighter than it looks at only 13.3 oz. My cleaver is nearly a quarter of a pound heavier. This knife isn't for the faint of heart: The blade comes very sharp right out of the box, and it's very un-chef-knife-like. You need to know where your digits are for the first few slices, and it must be cleaned immediately after any use or else your foods may affect the rustic blade. High carbon steel makes a good blade but it's very prone to spot from acidic residue, and needs to be oiled immediately following cleaning. The rustic dark area of the blade will always leave your towels black, so just avoid them. Keep it cleaned and oiled. If you are using a magnetic knife rack, oil it too. Treat it like a cast-iron pan. The edge is belt sharpened with no set angle, making blade upkeep a chore unless you are experienced. If you aren't, pay someone the ten bucks to pretty it up now and then. I secure mine in a vise and hit it at around 17 degrees with whatever stones will bring the edge back finishing with a leather strop. I will be featuring the Promaja in my upcoming BBQ videos @nigels_bars.

My daughter gave me an early Christmas present, the Promaja knife. This is the coolest and most bad ass knife I have ever owned. I really like the weight of it, not too heavy, but you know that you are holding a serious blade. Sharp isn't the word for this, it's like a huge razor, cuts through anything like it's butter.
